Many individuals choose to obtain limousine service to enhance their special occasions.  From weddings to high school proms to special anniversaries, limousines have become a traditional part of the experience.  When obtaining limousine service for your special day, there are several items to keep in mind to ensure a good experience.  Not all limousine companies are the same and do not offer the same services.  It is important to ask some questions of the limousine company to ensure that you are getting what you want.

• One of the biggest misconceptions that an individual may have is that a great deal of people will be able to fit into a limo.  This is especially true of groups that hire a limousine for a special occasion.  What these individuals fail to realize is the number of individuals a limousine seats is the maximum number of occupants that should be in the limousine. 

If an individual is renting a 6-person limousine, the maximum number of individuals in the limousine should be six. If there are 8 individuals in the group, then a 10-person limousine should be the one requested.  This not only ensures the comfort of each individual, but ensures the safety of the group as well.

• Another item to keep in mind when booking a limousine service is that the driver will only be as good as your instructions to them are. 

If you need to be at a specific destination at a specific time, it is important to let the driver know up front.  Any directions to the location should be written and it should not be assumed that the limousine driver knows where everything in the city is located.  They are only human after all.  By letting the limousine company and driver know the itinerary prior to departure, you are ensuring that travel will be smooth and that you will arrive at your destination at the desired time.

• When traveling, it is important that the limousine company and driver knows what airline to drop you off at or pick you up from. 

This is especially important for pick-ups where the aircraft may be late arriving.  If the company and the driver know the flight number of the flight that you are taking, they will be able to determine that your flight is delayed and will wait or return for you when your flight arrives. 

• It is also important to remember that limousines have a limited amount of trunk space, about the same amount as a luxury sedan. 

If you and your party are going to be traveling with a great deal of luggage, let the limousine company know prior to the travel date and they may be able to accommodate the additional luggage in a luggage trailer.
