Since the limo was first introduced in the early 1900's, they have represented class, style, and luxury. Riding in a limo was reserved for the crème de la crème of society and individuals conducted themselves in an appropriate manner. Individuals were polite, soft-spoken, and well aware of how their behavior would reflect on themselves and their families.
However, as limos became more available to the general public in recent years, many of these "old-fashioned" courtesies fell by the wayside and we were immersed in television images of celebrities behaving badly when being transported by limo. So how should an individual behave when being transported in a limo? There are several things that an individual can do to ensure that their limo experience will be a good one.
The most important thing that you can do to ensure that you have a good limo experience is to be courteous to the chauffeur. Unfortunately, this is the item that most people tend to forget. Even though the chauffeur is being paid to drive you around, they are not being paid to baby-sit you and your party or accept any insults that you may throw their way. If fact, may limo companies reserve the right to refuse service to anyone that treats their chauffeurs badly, with the entire amount of the estimated time in the limo charged to the individual's credit card for the trouble. It is also not out of the realm of possibility that any individual causing trouble in a limo will be forcibly removed from the limo by either the driver or the police if things get too out of hand.
Another item to remember is that you should be where you said you would be for the limo to pick you and your party up. Whether the limo has to look for you or not, you will still be charged for the entire amount of the rental. If plans change, there is typically a phone number that you can call to relay a message to the driver and inform them of any issues that may have arisen. Also remember that it is the chauffeur's job to open and close the doors for you when you are traveling in the limo, so don't be in such a hurry that you do not allow the chauffeur to do their job.
Do not force to many individuals into the limo as it will result in discomfort and irritation for all, not to mention the fact that having a limo that is over capacity is illegal and will not be tolerated by the limo company or the chauffeur. By keeping these simple tips in mind, you can ensure a fun and entertaining experience for all.
